This painting originates from photos of strangers I took on the train. In this particular situation, I was interested in the private world formed by the individuals riding the train, and the way in which they engage with one another through the tight space. Also present in this picture is the window, which shows the reflection of the girl holding the phone. The presence of the painter/photographer is thus felt as one which pries into the private situation, and is able to look into the world of the three girls through the reflection.
