Oil on Paper, from the series “Red Light Portraits”
40 × 50 cm
2025

In this painting I depicted the moment in which the man behind me picked up a pink backpack from the seat next to him. I was drawn to this moment, because the choice of items like bags seem to me to reflect something of the person. In this man’s case, I invented in my head the idea that he was a father, and that the pink backpack belonged to his daughter who he was taking to school. The brief glimpses I get of the people behind me sometimes allows me to fabricate a story in my head as an attempt to understand the individual.
