Hamidrasha Graduate Exhibition - July 2026

I am enraptured by strangers. We exist within the same space, go through the same daily rituals, and yet, we know nothing of one another. Even so, I feel that there is always something of a person that makes itself known without being said; an essence that shows itself in the smallest of moments. When I see such a moment, I feel the irresistible urge to capture it with my phone camera. Then, I begin the process of translating the photograph into a painting. In this process, I slowly “get to know” the photograph, while allowing the painting to become something else entirely. The final artwork strives to contain both the invasiveness and the intimacy involved in such an act.
